PLAYER OF THE MATCH:
RCB secured a sweet victory against CSK, making it two in a row in their rivalry since last year, and this one was particularly special. While they were lucky at times, their strategy and preparation were spot on, allowing them to dominate the game. After a certain point, the match felt one-sided, with CSK lacking the fight they are known for. CSK are typically known for their consistency and their ability to remain calm after both wins and losses. They’ll likely keep their approach simple and continue to back their players, but with an away game coming up, changes seem likely. RCB, on the other hand, will be eager for their next home match, thrilled to be heading to Bengaluru as table-toppers. That’s all for today, but tomorrow’s game between MI and GT in Ahmedabad promises to be an exciting one. Both teams lost their first games, so it should be an interesting contest. Rest up and join us back in the evening. Take care!

Chennai v Bengaluru, Post-Match ShowRajat Patidar | Player of the Match:
“It was a good total on this surface. The ball was stopping a bit, and it wasn’t easy for the batters. Playing at Chepauk against CSK is always special because of the fans. Not only CSK but every team’s home ground has its unique vibe. We were targeting around 200 because we knew it wouldn’t be easy to chase. My goal was to stay positive and keep attacking while I was at the crease. The batting lineup was the same as last game. The wicket was helpful for spinners, so we wanted to use them early. Livingstone’s spell was key, and Hazlewood’s first over was a game-changer. The way they bowled with a consistent hard length was impressive.”
Josh Hazlewood:
“The ball is coming out nicely. I feel fresh. As a group, we were outstanding tonight, using the conditions well, just like we did against KKR. The wicket was a bit up and down, two-paced, so we aimed to hit that in-between length. The energy at RCB is always great, and it reflects in our fielding. Coming back from injury can be tough, but I used that time to focus on fitness and stay fresh. Having a left-arm bowler like Yash Dayal in the team is crucial—his change of pace is a class act.” Match-8|RCB VS CSK|RCB Won the Match
Ruturaj Gaikwad:
“Honestly, I still feel 170 was a par score on this wicket. It wasn’t easy to bat, and our fielding cost us dearly. When you’re chasing 170, you have a bit more time, but when chasing 20 extra runs on a sticky wicket, you need to adjust your batting. The ball was sticking in the first five overs, and that made it challenging. Rahul and I backed our shots, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. When you have to chase extra runs, you always feel like you need to stay ahead of the game. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. We’re happy we didn’t lose by a huge margin, but it’s still a 50-run defeat. The game changed when their world-class spinners came on, and we couldn’t handle the pressure. The momentum didn’t stop, and that’s where we lost it. We have a long flight to Guwahati, and we need to improve in the fielding department before our next game.”
Match Summary:
Rachin wasn’t able to find his rhythm but kept one end intact, while Hooda struggled to get going. Dube showed some promise, but Dayal’s double-strike nearly sealed the game for RCB. CSK knew they were out of contention and simply batted out their time. Ashwin tried, Jadeja got a few, and Dhoni hit some late boundaries, but overall, the game was already over. RCB put in a complete performance to outclass CSK in their own backyard. Match-8|RCB VS CSK|RCB Won the Match
