RCB DOMINATE RR IN JAIPUR, POWERPLAY HEROICS SEAL THE DEAL

Rajasthan Royals managed to hit just five sixes in their entire 20-over innings, while RCB’s Philip Salt went one better all by himself, smashing six maximums during his blistering knock. The game, in truth, was as good as done in the powerplay. RCB came out firing, and Rajasthan never really recovered.

The Royals had a great record at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium last season, winning four out of five, but this year’s start hasn’t gone according to plan. Their current run stands at LLWWLL, highlighting the need for consistency. Meanwhile, RCB’s form on the road has been flawless—four wins in four away games—and they now sit third on the points table. They’ve stuck with a settled playing XI, and it’s clearly paying off.  Match-28|RR VS RCB|RCB WON THE MATCH|2025

That’s a wrap for this game! But don’t go anywhere—another exciting clash awaits as Delhi Capitals take on Mumbai Indians. Stay tuned!

PLAYER & CAPTAIN REACTIONS

Philip Salt (Player of the Match):
“Really pleased to contribute in a winning cause. This ground played a bit differently, but I’m glad I managed to leave an impact. Facing Jofra early on was tough—he was swinging it nicely—but I figured out where I could target and stuck to it. We’ve had loads of net sessions together, so it was fun to get the better of him out here. The pitch was slower and lower than the others we’ve played on, so the powerplay felt crucial. Rajasthan played well, but our bowlers nailed their plans, and it gave us the momentum.”

Rajat Patidar (RCB Captain):
“That was amazing from the team. The bowlers were outstanding, especially in the powerplay, which really set things up for us. We didn’t set a fixed target, but we thought something around 150-170 would be good. Watching Salt bat like that, and Kohli supporting him, was fantastic. The way our bowlers adapt to different conditions gives us confidence as a team.”

Devdutt Padikkal:
“I’ve been working hard to evolve my game, especially in the off-season. This year I’ve focused more on technical improvements, as mentally I felt solid. Credit to DK and Andy for their constant support during that process. It’s not just about scoring against RR, I want to do it consistently across all teams. I really value this franchise and want to keep performing. Our struggles at home seem more like coincidence—couple of bad overs here and there have cost us, but overall, we’ve been playing good cricket. We just need to avoid those collapses.”

Sanju Samson (RR Captain):
“Yes, 170 felt like a competitive score, especially after batting first on a dry surface in the afternoon heat. But they came hard in the powerplay, and that’s where we lost the game. Dropping catches hurt us—both teams had their moments, but they capitalized better. Credit to RCB for the way they approached the chase. The ball came onto the bat better under lights, and they used that to their advantage. We’ve been having honest conversations in the dressing room, and the focus now is to bounce back positively.”  Match-28|RR VS RCB|RCB WON THE MATCH|2025
