Gujarat Titans are on a roll:

That’s four wins in a row now, and their second win at home in Ahmedabad — a venue they’re steadily turning into a fortress. On the flip side, Rajasthan Royals’ brief two-match winning streak has come to an end with a thud. A heavy defeat like this will surely sting, and it’ll be interesting to see how they bounce back. That’s it from this match — but don’t go too far! We’ll be back tomorrow with a top-of-the-table clash between Bengaluru and Delhi. Catch you then!

Player of the Match – Sai Sudharsan:

The IPL is one of those tournaments where momentum from the get-go is crucial. It always feels great to contribute to a win. The ball was doing a bit early on, so I took my time initially, but we knew we couldn’t afford to slow down too much. The plan was to take the game deep and keep wickets in hand for the death overs. If we lose early wickets, we’re aware that the set batter has to dig in. Personally, I’m constantly trying to improve — working on my basics has helped me become more versatile.”  Match-23|GT VS RR|GT Won The Match|2025

 Shubman Gill (GT captain):

“We put up a solid total. It wasn’t easy to bat early on, but Sai and Buttler really stepped up. We’ll happily take 220 any day. The bowlers were fantastic — clinical from start to finish. When picking a Player of the Match becomes tough, that means the whole team is firing. Having someone like Rashid in the squad definitely makes my job easier as captain. And no, the senior guys don’t bully me — they’re all really nice!”  Match-23|GT VS RR|GT Won The Match|2025

 Notable Stats (by Roshan Gede):
Gujarat Titans’ biggest wins in the IPL (by runs):

  • 62 runs vs MI, Ahmedabad (2023, Q2)
  • 62 runs vs LSG, Pune (2022)
  • 58 runs vs RR, Ahmedabad (2025) ← this match
  • 56 runs vs LSG, Ahmedabad (2023)
  • 55 runs vs MI, Ahmedabad (2023)

🔹 GT have now beaten RR six times in seven encounters.
🔹 The last time RR were bowled out in an IPL match was against RCB in 2023 (all out for 59 in 10.3 overs — their biggest ever defeat).

Prasidh Krishna:
“The hard work we’ve been putting in is clearly paying off. Everyone’s contributing and that makes it easier for me. The wicket had some extra bounce, so I was mixing up lengths — going fuller and shorter when needed. Communication within the team is strong, and we try to adapt quickly to conditions. T20 is a format where even one good delivery can change the game. Our bowling unit is clicking well, and it’s reflecting in the results. Thankfully, no dew tonight — which helped us.”  Match-23|GT VS RR|GT Won The Match|2025

 Sanju Samson (RR captain):
“We probably gave away 15–20 runs too many while bowling. Every time we looked to build momentum in the chase, we lost a wicket. When Hetmyer and I were batting, the game was still within reach, but my dismissal was a turning point. The pitch had something in it — especially early on — and Jofra bowled brilliantly to remove Gill. But we need to revisit our death bowling in tomorrow’s meeting. The surface was good and we were prepared for it, but we aim to be a team that wins both chasing and setting targets.”

Match Recap:
A third consecutive IPL game where a 200+ total was successfully defended — and this one was as clinical as it gets from Gujarat. Early wickets fell as Jaiswal and Nitish Rana were dismissed quickly. Parag played a brief but fiery knock, and Samson looked in touch too. But Khejroliya’s crucial breakthrough to remove Parag tilted the game. Rashid Khan was back to his dangerous best, foxing batters with his googlies and leg breaks, finishing with two wickets. Despite a fighting 52 from Hetmyer, the chase was always out of reach. Prasidh Krishna sealed the deal with more key wickets late on.

In the end, a dominant win for the Titans — their fourth on the bounce — and a serious warning shot to the rest of the league.
