Today, the plan with Washington Sundar was simple — keep things grounded, play proper cricket shots. The way he batted was amazing. He had been ready to go in previous games, but the Impact Player rule changes things. Once we got a partnership going, it became easier to build on that. Siraj’s energy in the field and with the ball really lifts the team.”

“The captain just told me to bat deep and finish the game. I was aware of how the pitch in Hyderabad tends to ease out in the second innings, so chasing 160-170 becomes a bit easier. That helped. Match Recap:

This marks GT’s fourth straight win over SRH, and it was a clinical run chase from the Titans. Losing two quick wickets early — including Sudharsan and Buttler — could have shaken them, but instead, it was the beginning of a masterclass in calculated aggression.

Gill and Sundar stitched together a vital partnership that mixed smart running with aggressive strokeplay. Sundar, in particular, was brilliant, taking on the bowlers and keeping the pressure firmly on the home side. He was dismissed on 49 in what looked like a debatable decision, but Gill carried on unfazed, notching up a well-paced fifty.

Sherfane Rutherford, coming in as the Impact Player, played the finisher’s role to perfection. His powerful hits sealed the game with 20 balls remaining, showcasing GT’s strength in depth.

On the other hand, SRH’s total of 152 looked decent at the halfway mark, especially after a strong bowling powerplay. But it proved to be under-par as none of their batters managed a significant score.
