Post-Match Wrap: LSG vs MI – Cricbuzz Live:

What a turnaround it has been for the Lucknow Super Giants. Just before their opening game, with key bowlers like Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, and Mayank Yadav unavailable, their bowling attack looked thin and many considered them cannon-fodder for opposition batters. But four games into the season, LSG have defied expectations – registering wins against SRH and MI and narrowly losing to DC. With Avesh and Akash Deep now back in the side, they’re starting to look far more balanced. Match-16|LSG VS MI|LSG Won The Match|2025

However, the real revelations for LSG have been Shardul Thakur and Digvesh Singh Rathi, who’ve stepped up impressively and delivered under pressure. Shardul has brought his experience to the table while Rathi, in particular, has been a breath of fresh air – calm, confident, and consistently effective.

Player of the Match – Digvesh Singh Rathi (translated by Rishabh Pant):
“I’m really enjoying my bowling and love taking wickets. I’ve always looked up to Sunil Narine – his calmness and composure in pressure situations really inspired me. Before I bowled to Dhir, Pant and I had a quick chat – we planned a mid-wicket field, but didn’t have one in place. Dhir tried playing through that gap and it worked in our favor.”

Rishabh Pant (LSG Captain):
“The wicket played really well today. We had different expectations for the pitch, but whatever came our way, we accepted and adapted. When someone like Mitch Marsh gives you a flying start, it makes life easier for the middle order. We stayed calm despite MI keeping wickets in hand and managed to finish strong.

Shardul has been a brilliant pick for us – we believe in backing him. And Rathi – he’s already one of our leading bowlers, showing so much maturity and nerve. Great to see a youngster perform like that under pressure.” Match-16|LSG VS MI|LSG Won The Match|2025

Hardik Pandya (MI Captain):
“A tough one to take. Honestly, we gave away 10-15 runs more than we should have. But I’ve enjoyed my bowling – I don’t look for wickets, just try to build pressure with dot balls and force mistakes.

As a batting unit, we fell short. This is a team game – no one player is to blame. I take full responsibility. About Tilak’s retirement – it was tactical. We needed quick runs and it just didn’t come off today. It happens. The key is to keep things simple, back ourselves, and stay aggressive. A few wins and we’ll find our rhythm again.”

Shardul Thakur:
“There’s always pressure bowling the final overs, but that’s the job we’re paid for. The pitch was tricky – some slower ones worked, others got punished. In the end, yorkers were the key. Rathi has been phenomenal, a real surprise package for us. It’s great to have someone like him who shows such character and delivers when it matters.”  Match-16|LSG VS MI|LSG Won The Match|2025

Final Scenes:
